Dr. Tess Lawhon
Dr. Tess Lawhon grew up in Charleston, where she worked at Animal Medical Center as a technician assistant while attending school. In 2016, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a major in biological sciences and a minor in psychology. She graduated from University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 and was invited to rejoin the AMC staff the following year.
Her professional interests include oncology, internal medicine, and all things feline. Dr. Lawhon runs AMC’s feline radioactive iodine treatment, and cares for the patients during their hospital stay. Dr. Lawhon wants to help bridge the gap of care for cats in veterinary medicine. She believes that medical care should be collaborative with pet owners to determine the best treatment plan.
In her free time, Dr. Lawhon enjoys traveling and trying new restaurants with her husband, Ryan; and spending time with their cat and dog, Cersei and Moose.
